Dr. Soloman Jackson was a medical doctor. Dr. Jackson died on the 6th day of September 1887 in Charleston, Arkansas, where the doctor had practiced medicine for a number of years.
He was born in Illinois around 1843(circa). His father was born in North Carolina and his mother was born in Ohio, according to the Sebastian County 1880 Census. At this time (1880), Dr. Jackson was living in the Bates Township.
Dr. Jackson was married to a lady named Sarah A. Moad(born in Scott County, Arkansas on the 29th day of April 1853;the couple married on the 3rd day of February, 1876; both her parents were born in Tennessee); and two children: Viola, who was born in Texas; and Wallis who was born in Arkansas. Viola was born on the 22nd day of January, 1877; Wallis was born on the 16th day of September 1878; later on-Maggie May Jackson was born on the 25th day of October 1881 and twins were born on the 21st day of October 1884(Ora and Cora).
Dr. Jackson served as a private in the Kansas Infantry during the Civil War (Company C., 12th Regiment). It is noted that he enlisted at Paola, Kansas on the 22nd day of August, 1862 and was mustered out on the 30th day of June, 1865, in Little Rock (Pulaski County), Arkansas.
