Charles Franklin Popenoe, 78, of Vacaville for 34 years, passed away Dec. 3 at home with his loving wife by his side.
He was born in Topeka, Kan.
Charles retired from the United States Air Force with the rank of major 21 years. After retirement, he flew another 21 years for O.N.A. Thereafter, he attained a Real Estate Brokers license and worked for Gateway Realty. Charles also held a position at the Vacaville Library as a library assistant and absolutely loved it.
Charles is survived by his wife of 36 years, Vivian of Vacaville; daughters, Kathryn Prosinos (George) of Tampa, Fla., and Robin Carillo of Winters; sons, Charles E. Popenoe of Columbus, Ohio, and Jessie Popenoe of San Francisco, Calif.; sister, Ethelyn Lunsford (Earl) of Benton, La.; brother, Ward Popenoe of Redmond, Wash.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held.
Interment with full military honors will be in Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery, Dixon. Contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 1824, Sacramento, CA 95812 or Asera Hospice.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon.
