A native of Macon County, she had lived most of her life in Cherokee County.
She was the daughter of the late James and Nancy Lee Passmore and the wife of the late Robert Lee Barnes, who died Feb. 16, 1987.
She was a homemaker and a loving mother.
Surviving are two daughters, a son, and ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
Interment in Valleytown Cemetery.
