Zadoc Nims was born March 27,1754, at Keene, NH and died at Sullivan, NH on Jan 29/31, 1842. He was the son of David Nims and Abigail Hawks. He married Elizabeth (Betsey) Brown, twin sister of Silas Brown, in 1775/6; the daughter of Aaron Brown and Rachel Reed.

Purch. lot 152 in Sullivan, was a farmer, town auditor in 1796, treasurer in 1797, hogreeve in 1788 and juror. Was a Deacon of the First Congregational Church for 44 yrs.

This second source gives married names of daughters:

4. DEA. ZADOK4 NIMS (according to the true Biblical spelling, but Zadoc Nims, as he wrote it), son of David3, III., was a farmer living in Sullivan at [Lot] 152, in a large two-story house which formerly stood there. It was the farm which his brother Asahel4, who was killed at Bunker Hill, had purchased. After the latter's death, it passed by inheritance to his father, David3, of whom Zadok4 purchased it. The present owner, C. A. Brooks, married a descendant of Sakok4, and the farm has always been in the family. Zadok4, d. at 152, Jan. 31, 1842, nearly 88 years of age. He was, for 44 years, a deacon of the First Congregational Church of Sullivan, being one of the first two who were regularly chosen, in 1798. Two others had "distributed bread and wine" for the preceding six years, but were not regularly set apart as deacons. We have been unable to find the place and date of Zadock's4 marriage. His wife was Elizabeth (usually called Betsey) Brown of Leominster, Mass., where she was b., Oct. 17, 1754. She d. in Sullivan, at 152, Dec. 7, 1822. She was the daughter of Aaron and Rachel (Reed) Brown, and was a twin sister of Silas Brown, q.v. Zadok4 had nine children. The nine ch. were:
1. Calvin5, b., May 4, 1776.
2. Frederick5, b. ab. 1778, exact date not found; was unm.; was in War of 1812; went to the West, and nothing was again heard from him.
3. Betsey5, b. ab. 1780, exact date not discovered; d., March 19, 1781.
4. Philander5, b., Sept. 23, 1782.
5. Betsey5 (2d of name), b., Aug. 27, 1785; m. John Wilson, q.v.
6. Roxanna5, b., Apr. 10, 1789; m. Sparhawk Kendall, q.v.
7. Nancy5, b. ab. 1793 (the most diligent search has failed to find the exact date); m. Benjamin Kingsbury, q.v.
8. George5, b. Aug. 11, 1795; d. in Sullivan at 152, of tuberculosis, May 10, 1829.
9. Harriet5, b., Apr. 3, 1798 (the true date, correcting family records); m. Nathaniel Heaton, q.v.
