Tahlequah, OK – Funeral services for Debra Kay Kelley, age 59, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Niblett officiating. Interment will follow services at Moodys Cemetery. Debra was born on April 22, 1949, the daughter of Perry Fritts and Maxine Brannan. She attended school at Hulbert, Loeser, and Tahlequah. Upon finishing school, she attended shorthand training classes at NSU in 1976. She then decided on a career as a beautician and graduated May 1st, 1979 from the first class held at the Northeastern Oklahoma Beauty Academy. She continued her education and on August 4th, 1979, graduated from Advanced Training, then completed Instructors Training on November 6, 1979. On January 10th, 1975, she married the love of her life, Jimmie Darrell Kelley, in Miami, OK. Debra loved the great outdoors. She raised beautiful flower gardens and enjoyed the occasional fishing trip. She was an avid bowler and a member of the "200" Club. She was active in the Lowery PTA and served as Secretary for the Cherokee Indian Roundup Club. Debra was happiest when spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and family. She faithfully called her mother everyday and always looked out for the welfare of her grandchildren and family. A Baptist by faith, she was a member of the Steeley Springs General Baptist Church. Debra went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 8, 2008 at her home in Tahlequah, with her family at her side. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Tommy Jean Russell, two grandsons, Jayme Lee Burns and Bobby Lynn Burns, her maternal grandparents, Tom and Madge Brannan, paternal grandparents, Bill and Maggie Fritts, her sister-in-law, Carol Meeker and very special brother-in-law, Tommy Kelley. Survivors include her husband of thirty three years, Jim Kelley; three loving children; her parents; one sister; fourteen adored grandchildren, one special great-grandchild, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends and loved ones.
