His second wife, married Feb 1,1721/2, was Mercy Childs Allen, daughter of Richard Childs III and Elizabeth Crocker Childs of Barnstable,Mass.
Children(by second marriage): Amos Allen, Elizabeth Allen Arms, Tabitha Allen Arms, Irene Allen Foster, Edward Allen IV, and Silvanus Allen.
NOTE: He was actually buried on that part of his home lot in Greenfield which had been set aside for a burying yard. His dust, along with the dust and remains of several other leading men of Greenfield, was carted away in 1881 to make way for a highway. He is not buried here in Federal Street Cemetery, but a marker for him exists.
