Loy Elton Heffington, 88 of Conway, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008. Born in Enola, AR, he was a son to the late Thomas A. and May (Anthony) Heffington.

Mr. Heffington was a Navy veteran of ten years and served during WWII, having reached Pearl Harbor after the December 7th bombing, his brother Foy was already stationed there. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving ten years. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed family, friends and traveling through northern Arkansas especially in the fall and spring. Mr. Heffington was a member of the Audie Lynch Sunday school class at First Baptist Church in Conway. Two sisters: Mattie Hendrix Poole and Maude Bradke and four brothers: Foy, Elbert, Taft and Carl also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years May Nell (Glover) Heffington; a daughter Janell Heffington; a sister Jewell Beene; a dear cousin Buzz Heffington; special friend Harold Brady; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR. Interment will follow at Heffington Cemetery in Enola, with Bill Heffington, Rex Heffington, James Beene, Tony Beene, David Heffington, Neal Martin, serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Mr. Heffington's name to Heffington Cemetery.
