Born April 4, 1921 in Gary, a daughter of Patrick and Kathleen (Walsh) Stanton, she was a World War II Women's Army Corps veteran and past commander of American Legion Post 17 in Gary.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert Hartman of Illinois; three sisters, Kathleen Smith of Illinois, Patricia Dykes of Valparaiso, and Madeline Stanton of Illinois; and two grandchildren.
Services 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Dykes Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Msgr. John J. Charlebois officiating; burial in St. Paul's Cemetery; visitation 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday; rosary 7 p.m.; American Legion graveside services.
