Funeral services for Eliza (Jennie) Murray, 88, were held April 7 at the Sheets and Son funeral home with the Rev. E. H. Lauer officiating. Burial was in Red Oak cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harold Wentzel, Max Biggs, Henry Busching, Ernest Crock, Maynard Herring and Weldon Woods. Mrs. Richard Palmer was vocalist and Laura Geller, organist. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Highly and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ford Sr. were in charge of flowers.

Miss Murray died April 4 at the home of Margaret Smith in Tipton after a long illness.

The daughter of Alexander and Lucinda Pierce Murray, she was born in Cedar county January 9, 1877 and was educated in the Cedar county schools. She sent her life in the Tipton community.

She was a member of Evangelical chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Presbyterian church and the Cedar County Historical society.

She is survived by 4 nieces, Mrs. Beryl Stoffel, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Muriel Miller, and Mrs. Clara B. Smith, Tipton and Mrs. Elizabeth Werling, Des Moines; 3 great-nieces and a great-nephew.
