Norman L. Gaddis
Norman Lee Gaddis, 76, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at his home.
Born April 10, 1932, in Ansel, Ky., he was the son of Charley and Elizabeth (Wesley) Gaddis. He married Anna Lucille Adkins on Dec. 22, 1953, and she survives.
Other survivors include his sons, Gail (wife, Diana) Gaddis and Gary Gaddis, both of Shelbyville; brother, Marvin Gaddis of Muncie; grandchildren, Melissa Petro, Stephanie (husband, Josh) Morris, Troy Gaddis and Travis Gaddis; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Silas Gaddis, Edger Gaddis, William Aiden Gaddis and Noel Gaddis; and sisters, Nellie Parton, Myrtle Woodall and Ellen Dick.
Mr. Gaddis had been employed at Penn Central and also was a self-employed buyer, seller and trader.
He enjoyed going to flea markets and doing machine repair.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. George Mitchell officiating.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
