Mr. Weems, 88, of Lawrence, died on Monday Dec. 1, 2008, in his home. He was a deacon of Decedar Baptist church for 44 years. Recently he was named 2008 Mississippi Tree Farmer of the year, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his children, Loletta and Wayne Boutwell of Slidell, La., Rosetta and LeRoy Walton of Troy, Aa., Buddy and Angelina Weems of Newton, Danny and Nora Weems of Ringgold, Ga.; brother, Ozelle Weems and his wife, Margie; grandchildren, Mark, Kim, Morgan, and Tyler Boutwell, Conie, Alan, Allison, GregoryTeel, Jeffrey, Debby, Parker, Jody and Connor Walton, Johnie, Dawn, Hoop, Valli, Kirk, Chris, Jessica, Cole, Codi, Cami, and Celi Weems, Delwin, Tony, Dayton and Dalton Rickertson, Nikki, Stephen, and Daniel Berry; a niece, Linda and nephew Murry.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Ellen Gaskin Weems; his parents, Floyd and Vera Weems.
Memorials be made to Decedar Baptist Church Memorials. Pallbearers will be Hoop Weems, Chris Weems, Johnie Weems, Kirk Weems, Mark Boutwell, Jeffrey Walton, Jody Walton, Alan Teel, and Steven Berry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Denver Rigdon, Jake Vaughn, William Earl Smith, Ronnie Harvey, Murry Weems, Walter Mac Burns, Gerald Dozier, Gerald Newcomb, Bobby Fleming, Jack White, Ed Brown.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Thursday 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

Mark Cameron Boutwell
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Boutwell are the proud parents of their first child, a son, born Aug. 14, 1968 at Long Memorial Hospital, Starkville, weight 8 pounds, 15 ounces. The baby was named Mark Cameron, and his mother is remembered as Loleeta Weems. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Boutwell of Newton, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Floyd Weems of Lawrence are the grandparents Mrs. G. M.
