Jacob Riley Helm's name reflects the friendship between the Riley and Helm families who traveled together the frontier area of Indiana from Pennsylvania. Jacob is the fraternal twin of Margaret Elizabeth Helm Hewitt Smith. From this mingling of Rileys and Helms came the Hoosier poet/writer who captures the Hoosier's dialect, James Whitcomb Riley.Ruth Brown Egan
