Burette Key, of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday in a St. Louis hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Key, was born August 11, 1892 near Hahn.
He was a retired railroader, having ben a car repairman for Cotton Belt Lines.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army; serving in World War I.
The family resided for many years in Scott City before moving to Cape Girardeau three years ago.
Mr. Key is survived by his wife, the former Mrs. Mabel Hortsoe; a step-daughter, Mrs. W.D Flynn of Illmo, MO; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Louis (Ella) Dobbs of Zalma, MO; three brothers, Walter Key of Albuquerque, NM; Silas Key of Marble Hill, MO; and Paul Key of Zalma, MO.
One sister, Mrs. Alice Webb, died in 1952.
Funeral services were Sunday at Bisplinghoff Funeral Home of Illmo. Rev. L.E. Butler conducted the rites and burial was in Memorial Park near Cape Girardeau.
