Daniel D. Davisson was born about 1833 Johnson County, Indiana. His parents were Moses E. Davisson and Mahala J. Earlywine. He is found in the 1850 and 1860 US Census for Gilliam Township, Jasper County, Indiana. Daniel enlisted 15 Aug 1862 and died 11 Dec 1862. Daniel had two brothers, Jesse and Hezekiah, and an uncle Josephus Davisson who all gave their lives to the Union cause during the Civil War.

Resided at Medarysville and mustered in on Aug. 29, 1862.
Died in camp near Nashville, TN from typhoid fever.
