Donald E. Curtis, Galesburg Chapel, 70, 2345 Carol Dr. Galesburg died at 6:21 AM Thursday November 27, 2008 at his home.
He was born February 18, 1938 in Galesburg IL the son of Everett and Evelyn Wollem Curtis. He married Terri Curtis.
He is survived by one son Donald "Troy" (Shelly) Curtis of Galesburg; one brother Danny (Linda) Curtis of Galesburg, one sister Bonnie Parrish of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren Troy and Tyler Curtis and a special friend Rachel Lingwall. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
He worked at Kenny Holeman Tire Shop for 7 years. He also was a carman for Burlington Northern Railroad for 11 years and a driver for Black's Railroad Transit for 11 years. He retired in 2006. He lived in Galesburg all his life. He attended Carl Sandburg College. He was of the Christian Faith. He loved cars, motorcycles, stock car racing and motorcycle racing.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 2, 2008 in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Deacon Jim Haneghan officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be accorded. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
