Ruth Piercefield

The Rev. Hugh Owen of Edinburgh Christian Church conducted funeral services Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Reed and Jewell Funeral Home in Columbus for Ruth Piercefield, 75, of Cambridge Square Columbus, native of Edinburgh and sister of Mrs. Edelle Gosney of Edinburgh.

Mrs. Piercefield died Thursday at Columbus Convalescent Center after an eight-month illness. Burial was at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.

Mrs. Piercefield was born in Edinburgh June 5, 1904, the daughter of John and Bertha Watson Renee and lived her early life in Edinburgh. She married Lon Piercefield who died March 12, 1947.

The deceased was a former employee of the H. Tross Clothing Store in Columbus and formerly operated a clothing shop in Columbus.

Survivors include a son, Julian Piercefield of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Gosney of Edinburg and Mrs. Raymond Pickett of Indianapolis, and a grandson, David Piercefield of Indianapolis.
