Julia Ann Stanfield is the daughter of Thomas and Catherine 'Fraker' Stanfield. She married Joshua B Hanks on November 6, 1845 by Rev James Herrall in Macon Co., IL. They had 8 children: William Thomas Hanks, James Marion Hanks, Andrew Jackson Hanks, Joshua Emerson Hanks, Martha Jane Hanks, William Washington Hanks, Rachel Ann Hanks and Mary Alice Hanks.

Mrs. Julia Hanks died at 10 oclock Saturday night,Feb. 22nd at the residence of Mrs.R.E. Patterson, 266 Wabash Ave. of a complication of diseases.

Mrs. Hanks was 74 years old.She was born in Tennessee, but has lived most of her life in Macon county. Her maiden name was Julia Stanfield and her husband, Joshua B.Hanks who was a merchant here died in 1864.

She leaves four children,James Hanks of Strowd, Okla, Joshua E. Hanks of Sidney, Mrs. Mary A. Ritchie of Warrensburg and Mrs. E. E. Patterson of this city.

The funeral will be held Monday morning at half past eleven oclock from the Church of God.
