Peggy Joyce Dobbs Ferrell, 71, passed away at her home Monday, October 6, 2008.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she lived in London, Kentucky, until graduation from high school and had lived in Kingsport the past 46 years. Peggy retired from Holston Defense Corporation.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Russell William Ferrell; a daughter, Laura Renee Dobbs; her mother, Naomi (Dixie) Sarver; her father, Roswell L. Dobbs; and two infant nephews.
She is survived by a brother, Robert Dobbs and wife Elaine of Bethel, NC; a sister, Brenda Sherrod and husband Tom of Knoxville, TN; sisters-in-law, Virginia Lewis and Brenda Kay Barela of Bullhead City, Arizona; nieces, Tami Cornett of London, Kentucky, Stephanie Duncan of Blountville, Tennessee; nephews, Scott Dobbs of Loganville, GA, Kevin Coffman of Blountville, Corey Dobbs of Madison, GA, and Logan Dobbs of Atlanta, GA; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, June Shelton and Margaret Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at Temple Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Brian Schuler officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.
