Funeral services for George Wright, age 85, who died at his home, near Terhune (*Ira died in Clinton County, Sugar Creek Township. His death certificate was found at the Clinton County/Frankfort courthouse), last week, were held Thursday afternoon from Bethel church with burial in Bethel cemetery. Mr. Wright was a veteran of the civil war and was the oldest son of the Rev. John Wright who organized Bethel church in 1861. Mr. Wright's wife preceded him in death two years ago. Children surviving are: Jesse, John, Ed, Captain, Mrs. Ida King, and Mrs. Hattie Wallace, all of near Terhune. Mr. Wright was a member of the Bethel Methodist Protestant church and of the G.A.R. post at Rosston.
Note: Ira was the third son and fourth child of John Wright. His oldest brother, Robert Riley, was killed in the Civil War. His older brother, William Tell, is buried at Wright-Bethel cemetery.
