Billy Russell Bird died Sept. 5, 2006, at the age of 51. He grew up in Wirth, Ark., with his six brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Dianna Bird; three daughters and sons-in-law, April and John Walsh, and Kristin and Jamie Turnbough, of Mammoth Spring and Emily and Anthony Bettis of Alton, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Bailey, and Aysa Walsh; Avery Turnbough, Aden, Keyleigh and Abbagale Bettis; three sisters, Judy Bennett of Texas, Faye Owens of South Carolina, and Nancy Frazier of Arkansas; five brothers, Charles Bird of Colorado, Larry Bird, David Bird, Pete Collins and Tony Collins all of Arkansas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Sylvia Belle Bird.

Services were held Sept. 8 at the Clary Chapel with Bro. Leon DuBois officiating. Burial followed in the Wirth Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Mammoth Spring.

Pallbearers were Denny Walsh Sr., Denny Carl Walsh Jr., Nela Rogers, Stephen White, Trent White, Jr. Ramsey, Lindy Greene and Dustin Hatterman.

Survived by his nieces and nephews Erica Frazier, Brenda Bird, Cheryl Garcia, Sandra Henry, Kristin Turnbough, Emily Bettis, Leslie Owens, Eddie Owens, LeeAnn Hardin, Kevin Bird, David Bird, Ray Bird, Megan Bird, Arron Collins!
