Memorial services for Barbara Livingston were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2006 at the United Church of Christ in Alcester. Burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Alcester preceded the service.
Barbara Steeneck was born September 10, 1932 in Alcester, SD to parents Edward and Blanche (Ericson) Steeneck. She died July 25, 2006 at Avera-McKennan Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 15 days. Barbara was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. She graduated from Alcester High School in 1950. Barbara worked for many years at Custom Coils. She married Bruce Livingston on August 17, 1962. Barbara was a member of the Eastern Star and the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her one daughter, Brenda (David) Sebern of Golden, CO; two sons, Scott (Andrea) Livingston of Brandon, SD and Kirk (Lu) Johnson of New Richmond, WI; her mother, Blanche Steeneck of Alcester; four grandchildren, Collin and Erin Livingston and Stephanie and Tara Johnson; two step-grandchildren, Michelle Sebern (Steve Partridge) and Amy (Andrew) Ewald; one step-great granddaughter, Aubrie Jane Ewald. Also surviving are five sisters-in-law, Verna (Tony) Ball of South Sioux City, NE, Della Callahan of Tempe, AZ, Shirley (Don) Roth of Sioux Falls, Marlys Larson and her friend Paul Maurer of Jefferson, SD and Winifred Livingston of Tenino, WA; one brother-in-law, Robert Schmitz of Jefferson, SD; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Preceding Barbara in death was her father, Edward and her husband, Bruce.
