SUNSET--Heber Grant Hammon, 75, of Sunset, died Monday, Sept. 12, 1983, in St. Benedict's Hospital following a long illness.

He was born Sept. 2 1908, in Roy, a son of Daniel Jeddiah and Annie Hansen Hammon.

He married Denise Brenchley Feb. 9, 1928, in Brigham City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was reared in Roy and educated in Weber County Schools.

For 25 years he operated a gasoline distributorship in Sunset. He operated a garage in Roy for several years. He had also been Intermountain manager for Jewel Tea Company.

He had served on the Roy City Council.

He was a high priest in the Sunset 6th LDS Ward and had served as bishop of the Sunset 3rd Ward.

Surviving are his widow of Sunset, two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Hetty) Sly, Roy; Dee Jay Hammon, Brigham City; Heber Grant Hammon Jr., Concord, Calif.; Mrs. David (Cathy) Sundwall, Silver Spring, Md.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Claudine Crossley, Salt Lake City; Lelah Talbot, Sacramento, Calif.; and Rose Johnson, Riverdale.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Sunset 3rd Ward Chapel, 338 W. 1800 N., with Bishop Ferris Kunz officiating.

Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary in Roy Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Interment in the Roy City Cemetery.
