Services for James Thomas Young of Thomasville are at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Denton Headrick and the Rev. Gerald Townson will officiate and interment is in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Mark West, Paul West, Danny Mills, Jack Young, Cleve Stuckey and Michael Davis. Mr. Young died Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born June 5, 1932, in Irwin County, he was a son of the late George Felton Young and Mary Ola Adkinson. On March 26, 1955, in Thomas County, he married Lila (Libby) Elizabeth West. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Young's Auto Electric for 35 years. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church. He loved and served his Lord-Jesus Christ, his family and his church family. Survivors include his wife, Lila (Libby) Elizabeth W. Young; sons, James Terryle Young (Donna K.), David Alan Young (Susie); daughters, Teresa Jane Fielding (Clifton), Judy Elizabeth Warmack (Shawn); brothers, Ernest E. Young, George W. Young (Joanne), Alvie Jackson Young; sisters, Christine West (James), Mary Plymel (Mayo), Betty Johnson (Mark), Ruby Carr; sister, Ruthie Raper (Mike); 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
