Mrs. W.W. Castle passed away Wednesday, May 5, 1920, at 1:20 p.m. after an illness of nearly five weeks. Ida Sheffield was born near Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, October 20, 1863, and passed away at her home here in Correctionville, May 6, 1920, being at the age of 56 years, 6 months and 14 days. She removed to Iowa with her parents in 1881. On January 7, 1883, she was united in marriage to Walter W. Castle. They located on a farm two miles northwest of Correctionville where they resided until thirteen years ago when they moved to Correctionville. To this union was born one son, Earl R., who with his wife and family survive her. The illness, which resulted in her death, was a disease of long standing, which together with other complications, hastened her death, and though she had been a sufferer for some time, her nearest friends could not realize her condition as she maintained her cheery and pleasant disposition to the last. She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband and son, three grandchildren, Helen, Ned and Shirley Castle, also two sisters, Ms. Emma Plato of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Mrs. Lillie Plato of Anthon, and one brother, Charles T. Sheffield of Correctionville. The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the M.E. Church with Rev. E.T. Gerkin officiating. The local Rebekahs attended in a body of which order the deceased was a highly respected member. The remains were laid to rest in the Correctionville Cemetery.
