Obituary for Mrs. Rebecca DeW. Ayersman. Cumberland Evening Times. Cumberland, Md. Thurs., April 17, 1941.
Abstract--Rowlesburg, WV, April 17-Mrs. Rebecca DeWitt Ayersman, died yesterday morning. She was the daughter of Richard and Mary Catherine Whetsell DeWitt. She was the mother of 13, seven surviving as follows; Mrs. J. H. DeWitt of Morgantown, Mrs. S. H. Short of Rowlesburg, Mrs. O. O. Sterne of Cumberland, Md., Mrs. Z. W. Peaslee and Joseph Ayersman of Rowlesburg, Ernest and Viola Ayersman at home. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Adeline Funk of Red Rock, and two brothers, Henry DeWitt of Whetsell Settlement, and Robert DeWitt of Manheim; three half-sisters, Mrs. William Glover of Keyser, Mrs. Charles Buckner and Mrs. Ira Lantz, Rowlesburg; three half-brothers, B. W. DeWitt of Fairmont, Oscar DeWitt of Manheim, and Foster DeWitt of Pa.
