Grandpa Glass Passes Away

On last Sunday evening a silent messenger beckoned to our fellow townsman, Mr. Dennis M. Glass, and with the close of the day he passed on to the brighter land.

His health had not been good for several years but he was seriously ill only one day.

For twelve years, since the death of his wife, his home has been with his son, Dr. J. T. Glass, and until some three months ago he was still mingling with his many friends he had made since coming to Clifton.

His thoughtful consideration for everyone brought him the esteem of all who knew him. In the more than four score years of his life his greatest pleasure was to minister to the happiness; now like a ripened sheaf he is garnered in the harvest of God's mercy and love.

Besides his son, Dr. J. T. Glass, of this city and his daughter, Mrs. R. T. Womack, who lives about seven miles east of town, he had other children in Hill county, his old home, who have the sympathy of loving friends in this great loss of an affectionate father.

Monday afternoon after a loving and tender service at the home, his pastor, Rev. J. L. Mahan, of the Baptist church, his Masonic brethren bore his remains to the Clifton Cemetery and there placed them to rest.
