Mrs. Joseph Gilsdorf, 85, route 1, Elkhart Lake, died in Fond du Lac Tuesday night after a brief illness.
Born March 26, 1874, in Hilbert, Mrs. Gilsdorf lived on a farm in the town of Rhine after her marriage. She celebrated her golden wedding anniversary with her late husband on June 25, 1945.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church, Kiel, with burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the Meiselwitz Funeral home, Kiel. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. tonight.
Survivors include a daughter, Miss Cecilia Gilsdorf, Bear Creek; four sons, Norbert, Elkhart Lake, Anthony, Muskegon, Mich., and Arthur and George, both of Fond du Lac; two brothers, Edward Dorn, Chilton and Henry Dorn, New Holstein.

Mrs. Joseph Gilsdorf, 85, R. 1, Elkhart Lake, died at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, at 7 p.m. Tuesday following a brief illness.

The former Margaret Dorn, she was born in Hilbert March 26, 1874, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Dorn. On June 25, 1895, she was married to Joseph Gilsdorf at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hilbert.

They settled on a farm in the Town of Rhine and spent their entire married life there. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary June 25, 1945. Mr. Gilsdorf preceded his wife in death Oct. 13, 1947.

Mrs. Gilsdorf was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, the parish Christian Mothers Society and Women Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include four sons, Norbert of R. 1. Elkhart Lake; Arthur and George of Fond du Lac and Anthony of Muskegan, Mich.; a daughter Miss Cecilia Gilsdorf of Bear Creek, Wis.; nine grandchildren and two brothers, Edward Dorn of Chilton and Henry Dorn of New Holstein. A sister and two infant children preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, following brief rites at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home. The Rev. F. X. Kheil, pastor, will be celebrant of the Requiem Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. The rosary will be recited there Thursday, 7:30 p.m. by members of the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters and 8 p.m. by members of Christian Mothers Society.

Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph Gilsdorf, 85, of R. 1. Elkhart Lake, who died Tuesday, were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel.

The Rev. F. X. Kheil, pastor was celebrant of the Requiem Mass, assisted by the Rev. Lambert Scanlan as deacon and the Rev. George Kiefer as sub-deacon. Burial was in the church cemetery.

The Women's Catholic Order of Foresters and the Christian Mothers Society attended the services in a group. They also held a vigil at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home Thursday evening.

Pallbearers were Leo and Richard Dorn, Joe and Othman Gilsdorf, Wallace Joas and Joseph Schnell.
