Gertrude Wimmer

Gertrude Wimmer, 85, of 700 Bluff St., Fulton, died Saturday, Dec. 19 at Callaway Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 28, 1894 in Westphalia, Mo., the daughter of Herman Rothove and Mary Elizabeth Heet.

Mrs. Wimmer was married to John B. Wimmer on Oct. 21, 1914. He preceded her in death in 1961. She is also preceded in death by one son, John, who died in 1976.

Surviving are five sons: Herb Wimmer of Pinole, California, Charles Wimmer of Bellflower, Mo., James Wimmer of Portland, Mo., Bernard Wimmer of Sedalia, Mo., and Eugene Wimmer of St. Peters, Mo.

Also surviving are two daughters, Viola Butzer of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Alma Dittmer of St. Louis, and 36 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fulton with Father George Kramer officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Resurrection Cemetery in Jefferson City. A Christian wake service will be at 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Maupin Funeral home in Fulton.

Visitation will be after noon today at the Maupin Funeral Home.
