Rocco Russomanno was born on August 31, 1931, in Newark, New Jersey, son of the late Gerardo and Anghelitta Russomanno. He served in the United States Airforce during the Korean War. Mr. Russomanno graduated from the University of Massachusetts (B.S., microbiology) and later attended Rutgers University, in New Jersey. He spent the majority of his career as a microbiologist with the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, conducting research throughout the U. S. and around the world.

Mr. Russomanno passed away suddenly on the morning of Sunday, August 12, 2001, at the age of 69. He was a resident of Hamilton County, Anderson Township, Ohio, for over 30 years.

Surviving him is his wife of 48 years Mrs. Josephine Russomanno; a sister, Mrs. Olympia (Arthur) Scarpa; two sons, Gerald Russomanno and Anthony C. (Lynn) Russomanno; and three grandsons, Joseph Russomanno, Anthony R. Russomanno, and Andrew Russomanno.
