Excerpt regarding the David Hine Family:
"Editor Dispatch: - We remember the personal appearance of Mr. David Hine more especially after becoming well advanced in life. He possessed a rugged frame, and we judge in his earlier years was a man of great strength and power of endurance. Not as tall as his son Warren, but bony and compact in his make-up. As Warren became aged I noticed a strong and marked facial resemblance between him and his father. Of Mrs. Achsah Hine we have no recollection of her appearance. We have heard that she was tall, but well formed, had brilliant eyes, and was comely; a woman of remarkable energy and wise management of household affairs and keeping every- thing in order in her large family, the government of which devolved greatly upon her. From such parents we would look for well-trained, orderly, and promising children, healthy in body and clean in morals and habits. We are glad to be able to say that the home influences of this good couple are noticed to this day in the personality and character of their descendants. David and Achsah were the parents of ten healthy children, all of whom save one lived to be heads of families themselves. It is proper that we should refer to them, but it must be in the briefest form possible."
