655. Benjamin Sacket, 1762-1844, of Warren, Litchfield County, Conn., son of (203) Capt. Justus Sacket , was married Nov. 22, 1782, to Betsey Eldred, who died Mar. 9, 1819. On Oct. 5, 1819 he was married to his second wife Mary Gaylord, who died in 1856. He was a soldier in war of the Revolution, serving in Capt. David Olmstead.s Company, of Col. Enas' Regiment. I have a PDF file of Benjamin's pension file and of Mercy, Benjamin's widow. In the summary of the file it is stated:
He was allowed pension on his application executed August 7 1832, while residing in Warren, Connecticut.
He died July 14, 1844, at Warren, Connecticut.
The soldier married October 5, 1819, at Warren, Connecticut, Mercy Gaylord. Their marriage was recorded on the records of the Congregational Church of said Warren.
Soldier's widow, Mercy, was allowed pension on her application executed March 17, 1853, while residing in Warren, Connecticut. In 1855, she was living in Lockport, Niagara County, New York, and was then aged seventy-five years.
