At the age of 22, she came to this country and settled on a farm near Wanatah. On Nov. 19, 1865, she was married to Charles Pietsch. Her husband, one son, William and a daughter, Adeline, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Pietsch was a member of the Salem Evangelical Church and was a charter member of the Ladies Aid Society. She was also an honorary member of the auxiliary of the Grand Army of the Republic.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Adeline Heinke and Mrs. Adelida Zanger of Wanatah and Mrs. Emma Tromblee of Kouts; four sons, Charles of Wanatah and Henry, Theodore and Otto of Kouts; two adopted children, Laura and Edward Rosenbaum, niece and nephew respectively to the deceased woman; two brothers, William Benkie of LaCrosse and John Benkie of Kouts; 23 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
