Louis H. Morris, 81, 1111 Bear Valley Road, and formerly of Mount Carmel, died on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Born in Centralia on Nov. 22, 1926, he was a son of the late Louis A. and Emily (Conrad) Morris.

He was a graduate of Hubert Eicher High School, Centralia.

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Intrepid during World War II.

He received the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal with one star and the World War II Victory Medal.

He was married on Aug. 2, 1952, in the Church of Our Lady, Mount Carmel, to the former Agnes Martin, who died on March 28, 1997.

He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Ashland.

He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cheryl and James McDonald of Harrisburg, Louanne Drumheiser of Mount Carmel, and Carol and Robert Bainbridge of Coal Township; a son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Gina Morris of Mount Carmel; seven grandchildren, Britni, Christopher, Robert, Nicole, Austin, Claudia and Louis, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Morris, who died during World War II, and three sisters, Beatrice Clews, Jean Jordan, and Betty Noble.

Louis H. Morris, 81, 1111 Bear Valley Road, Coal Township, and formerly of Mount Carmel. Religious funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church, Ashland.

Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Centralia.

Visitation with the family will be held at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. Joseph J. Stutz Inc.

Funeral Home, 40 S. Narket St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor, has charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church of Ashland, c/o North Parish, P.O. Box 487, Frackville 17931.
