Mr. Hampton E. Gandy, Jr., died Tuesday night at a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Gandy was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County, Florida.

He is the son of the late Sheriff Hamp Gandy, Sr. and Mrs. Nellie J. Gandy.

He had served in law enforcement most of his adult life. He was chief investigator for the Escambia County Sheriff's Dept. for many years and for the ten years prior to his retirement he was Information Specialist for the Sheriff's Dept.

He was a member of Richard Memorial Methodist Church and a member of Elks Lodge No. 497.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Pinney Gandy; three daughters, Mrs. Dorsey Risher of Elko, Nev., Mrs. Barbara Godwin of Gulf Breeze and Mrs. Bennie Toth of Pensacola; two sons-in-law, Gene Godwin of Gulf Breeze and Gary Toth of Pensacola; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jim "Marilyn" Pinney of Pensacola; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by seven sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Hughes of Pace, Mrs. Gay Sakalarios, Mrs. Viola Long, Mrs. Thelma Atkinson, Mrs. Nellie Thorkldsen, Mrs. Dimples Polk and Mrs. Doris Bates all of Pensacola; two brothers, Rev. Luther Gandy of Brunswick, AL, and Mr. Orin Gandy of Walkertown, NC.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 18, at 2 PM from the Chapel of Fisher-Pou with Dr. Alton Butler, Rev. Warren Lindsey, and Mr. Chris Penney officiating.

Interment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Greg Pinney, Jerry Pinney, Gene Bates, Ronnie Gandy, Bud Hughes and G. C. Polk.

Honorary pallbearers are Roy Crosby, Dr. E. O.
