- Solomon Miller, born September 21, 1832 in Augusta Co., VA., departed this life October 2nd, 1901, age 69 years, 11 days. Disease, conjestion of the kidneys and bladder and nervous prostration. He was first married to Barbara Niswander of Rockingham Co., Va., April 13, 1854. To this union were born 4 boys and 4 girls, 3 of those children and their mother have preceded the father to the spirit world.
His second marriage was on the 13th day of July, 1875, to Susan Whistler of Augusta Co., Va. To this union were born a son and a daughter. The deceased leaves his side companion, 7 children, 10 grandchildren, 3 brothers and 1 sister to mourn their very sad loss; but we trust his eternal gain. He was afflicted for many years but was confined to his bed only about 3 weeks before he died. His sufferings were great until death relieved him.
Funeral services conducted by the Brethren from Heb. xiii, 14. He was a member of the old German Baptist Church over 40 years and when the divide came he took his stand with the old brethren. He was chosen to the Deacon's office in 1883. By Abraham Miller.
