Donald Rivera, a lifelong resident of Ribera, N.M., passed away Tuesday evening, Nov. 11, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, N.M. He is preceded in death by his father Filiberto Rivera, his mother Estella Dimas-Rivera, and two brothers, Lucio and Larry Rivera.
Donald Rivera is survived by his brothers Roger and wife Jane Rivera; Filiberto Jr., Louie Rivera; Lawrence Rivera; all of Ribera, N.M., Henry and Marcella Rivera of San Juan, sisters, Martha Romero, Lou and husband Rudy Valdez, and Dorothy Rivera all of Santa Fe; Roseanna Lynch of Philadelphia, Esther Aguilar of Pueblo, Colo.; Marilyn Rivera of Denver, and Christella and husband Florian Montoya of Chimayo, N.M..
A rosary will be recited from the San Miguel del Vado Catholic Church in Ribera, N.M., on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. also at the San Miguel del Vado Catholic Church in Ribera.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Rivera, Donnie Valdez, Kevin Rivera, Robert Rivera, Gilbert Rivera and Joseph Rivera. As honorary pallbearers: Cassandra Rivera, Leonard Romero, Emily Montoya, Rhonda Rivera, Rick Rivera, Louie Sandoval, Modesta Lucero and all the rest of his nieces and nephews.
