Mrs Inez Best, age 82, of the Poplar Spring community, died Thursday, Dec 24, 1998 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Holmes County on July 6, 1916. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Dec 27 at Bethel Baptist Church with Elder Bill Stewart officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with James and Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M "Boy" Best, on Oct 20, 1998.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: James W and Ruby Best of Graceville; daughter and son-in-law: Jenella and Felton Adkinson of Smiths, Alabama; brother: Dwell Martin of Indiana; sisters: Annie Lee Morris of Chipley, Ophelia Dansby of Phenix City, Alabama, Willie Clyde Elmore of Columbus, Georgia; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.SOURCE: Holmes County Advertiser/Washington County Post - Wednesday, January 6, 1999, Page 19
