Born in Arkansas on Feb. 1, 1900. Son of Barry G. and Rosetta, Brother of Floy L., first husband of Agnes, father of Paul and Nancy. He was a petroleum engineer and he worked and lived in South America for a while, including in Columbia and Peru. Later, he and his family lived in Springdale, Oregon, then Portland, where he worked at Standard Oil Co. Hugh Watts died of cachexia on Nov. 30, 1939, a complication from esophageal cancer that had spread to his liver, stomach. According to his DC, he weighed an unbelievable 46 lbs. at the time of his death.
