Son of Conrad/Coonrod "Cooney" Adams and Mary "Polly" Houk (some sources give "Hawk"). Coonrad Adams born North Carolina about 1770 and died in Crawford (now Phelps) County Missouri in 1835. Most of his family came to Missouri around the 1830's. While most of this family is buried in the Phelps and Dent Counties area, not all of their graves have been located.

Charlotte Malone was born Washington Co., Kentucky in 1808 and was lasted noted living in Rolla Township, Phelps Co., Missouri on the census of 1860; she is believed to have died after 1862.
