Born July 14, 1918, in Milan Township, the son of Oliver and Beatrice (Daw) Byro, Ralph married Bertha Cederholm on May 22, 1943, in Great Bend, Kan. A veteran of the US Army Air Corps, having served during World War II, he was a lifelong farmer in DeKalb County; he also drove a Malta school bus and was custodian for Malta Grade School. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Creston, Sons of Norway Lodge - NorDeka Chapter and DeKalb County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Lyle Byro; and a sister, Alma Henson Bailey.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 126 E. South St., Creston, with the Rev. Ronald Larson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Creston. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at the church.
