He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from nearby Muskingum College; a Master of Science from Notre Dame and eventually a Doctorate in Applied Sciences. He was a professor of biology in Notre Dame for 20 years and in the College of Steubenville for 8 years.
Doctor Stokley was born 15 February 1912 and died on 1 January 1965 from injuries received in an automobile accident during the Christmas vacation. Dr. Stokley was physically abnormal--abnormalities similar to those afflicted by thalidomide, yet he achieved so much and developed a high degree of holiness, influencing many, many people. RECENTLY A NEPHEW STATED: "HE IS THE ONLY DECEASED PERSON I DON'T PRAY FOR, BUT PRAY TO."
Knowing and being associated with Paul Scott and the family has been one of the great blessings in my life. "Paul Scott, please continue to remember us before the Throne of Grace. Thank You for your outstanding living of the Gospel!! Monsignor George J. Adams, 1998
