Jacqueline "Jackie" Irwin, found peace October 28, 2008, at the age of 77 years, following a long battle with Alzheimer's.

She was raised in Black River Falls, WI, and was the only child of Willard and Ellen Jones. She went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin School of Nursing, in Madison.

She is survived by her son Dan of North Carolina, and her close friends Carol Kawleski, Barbara Kraemer, Irene Reuter, Dale Van Alstyne, and other special friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Todd.

She was a longtime resident of Menomonee Falls and joined Community Memorial Hospital in its first year of operation, and retired in 1992, after 28 years as a nursing supervisor. She was chosen Employee of the Year in 1986. Jackie loved the hospital as much as they loved her. She has resided at Clare Bridge of Brookfield since July 2006.

Heartfelt gratitude is extended to the dedicated staff of care givers at Clare Bridge. They attentively cared for her with great compassion in her final phase of life. Special thanks to Odyssey Hospice for their visits and end of life care. Jackie will always be remembered for her gentleness, graciousness and special kind of warmth. She was an incredibly kind and beautiful person, loved by many, and will be greatly missed by all. At her request, no formal service will be held and burial will be in Black River Falls, at the Riverside Cemetery.

Memorials in her name can be sent to Community Memorial Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 408, Menomonee Falls, WI 53052, or to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 6130 W. National Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53214.
