Mr. Durant, 62, died of heart failure Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
He was retired, having worked at Supervalu warehouse from 1982 to 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Lynn Durant of Itta Bena; a sister, Aurela Smith of West Point; a daughter, Maggie Durant of St. Louis, Mo.; four sons, Anthony Durant, Feland Durant and Michael Durant, all of St. Louis, and Artley D. Lynn of Waynesboro; a daughter, Nenatfaye Durant of Itta Bena; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Elder Buster Ollie will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Anthony Durant, Feland Durant, Carlton Lowman, Michael Durant, Artley Lynn and Wesley Bruce.
Honorary pallbearers will be Monroe Golden, Larry Martin, Andrew Durant, Albert Lynn, C.T. Ollie, Robert Bruce and C.W. Morgan.
Burial will be in Pitts Memorial Garden in Itta Bena.
