The Bolivar Commercial, Thursday, November 13, 2008: Earline Hamilton Davis, 82, of Cleveland died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at St. Paul M.B. Church in Cleveland with the Rev. Fredrick L. Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Cleveland.
She was born on April 14, 1926, in Skene to the late Ephram and Lela Pittman Hamilton. She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age. Before her untimely death, she joined St. Paul M.B. Church, pastored by Frederick Ford Sr.
She was united in holy matrimony to Izia Shaw Davis on June 22, 1953, and to that union, four children were born.
Earline was a housewife, childcare provider, food caterer and devoted church member for many years before retiring and becoming ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Wikita, her oldest son Roy, her oldest grandson Wilson Jr., five sisters and three brothers.
Our beloved mother departed this earthly world to go to her heavenly home, leaving to cherish many fond memories two sons Wilson (Lola) Davis Sr. of Charlotte N.C. and Isaiah Davis of Cleveland; two daughters Mary Melinda Davis of Boyle and Mitzi (Tony) Hunter of Cleveland; two step-children Isaac (Sharon) Davis, of Peoria, Ill. and Marsha Davis of Memphis, Tenn.; sister Bernice Carter of Vicksburg; a grandson she reared Cordevo Davis of Cleveland; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; special friends Leroy and Florida Jossell of Carrolton, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
