Susan married George Calvin Baughn on May 20, 1858 at the age of 24. The couple had five children: Mary J., John W. George C., Warner L. and Milton H.
The 1870 and 1880 US Census has Susan and George farming in Henderson County, Tennessee, next to her parents. They moved the family to Texas in late 1880. They settled first in Clarksville, Texas, and a year later purchased 100 acres in Justice Precinct 7, Lamar Co., Texas. (per George's Obituary)
Susan Jane died January 1, 1931 at the age of 97. She is buried in Deport Cemetery beside her husband, George Baughn.
