Due to causes incident to age, Asenath Louise Passey McKinlay passed away on November 8, 2008 at The Lodge at Jordan River Assisted Living Center in South Jordan.

She was born in Salt Lake City on June 13, 1911, the daughter of William Boyd and Delightra Victoria Johnson Passey. She was the eighth of nine children (one died in infancy) and the last survivor. She married Lynn A. McKinlay in the Salt Lake Temple on April 6, 1938. Dancing was the talent that stood in the forefront in her childhood, youth and young adulthood. It was as a dancer in Idaho Falls when she auditioned for a play that she met her future husband, who was an actor. From the time she was a child, she dreamed of being a wife and mother.

She faithfully fulfilled several callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but her life revolved largely around her children, children-in-law, and grandchildren. She remembered the birthdays and anniversaries, and sent cards with sticks of gum and quarters, a practice that all of her grandchildren fondly remember. When her children spread out to various parts of the country, she enjoyed her trips to Connecticut, Hawaii, Virginia and Idaho. Having a spontaneous personality, she radiated love and charm to those who knew her. She was famous for her sweet rolls, or "Sann's Rolls". We are confident that there is joy on the other side with this transition in her life. Her husband passed away May 1, 2003.

Survivors include David Lynn (Lee Brown), Douglas Robin (Betty Jo Vance), Heather Ann (Al) Harrington, Iris Lee (Michael) Sloan, Daniel Boyd (Melanie Carter), Arthur Paul (Kathy Jo Hallstrom), and Rosemary (John) Aldrich. She and Lynn had twenty granddaughters, one of whom, Becky Aldrich, died at the age of six, and 19 grandsons. She has 51 great-grandchildren, two of which were taken in infancy. She also has numerous loving nieces and nephews. She leaves with her adoring family an enduring legacy of unconditional love.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2008 at the Edgewood LDS Chapel, 3500 North 180 East, Provo. Friends may call at Berg Mortuary, 185 East Center Street, Provo on Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 6 until 8 p.m. and at the Church on Monday morning from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.
Interment will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery.
