Funeral services were held in the Lewellen Methodist church Sunday afternoon for Benjamin Arthur Williams; 68, who passed away Friday [February 2, 1951]. Rev. Etheredge was in charge of the final rites and burial was made in the Ash Hollow cemetery.

He was born December 24, 1882 at Wellington, Kansas, later residing in Oklahoma before coming to Nebraska. When he was 11, his parents took a homestead in Oklahoma and he went with them, continuing to make his home there until he reached manhood.

Upon leaving home he went to Kansas to live, homesteading in Finney county in 1910. In succeeding years he resided in several localities in Kansas, among them being Hill City and Garden City.

On August 29, 1906, he was united in marriage with Miss Laura Elsie Miller at Pond Creek, Oklahoma. Six children were born to the union, all of them still living.

He came to Lewellen in 1935 and since that time has maintained his home in that town. Until recently he and his wife operated a cafe in Lewellen but they sold their interests in that business the fore part of this year.

Surviving relatives include his wife; three sons, Ed of Ogallala; LeRoy of Stockton, Kansas, and Eugene of Montana; three daughters, Mrs. Winona Fowler and Mrs. Penita Barrett, both of North Platte, and Mrs. Dollie Knaus of Bridgeport; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchiildren.
