Glen (Babe) Armes, 78, 1306 W. Walnut St., Washington, Ind., died at 10:19 a.m. Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Gill Chapel with the Rev. Doug Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born April 5, 1910 in Knox County to Jackson and Martha Potts Armes. He married Velma Wilson Aug. 15, 1929 and she survives. He was a retired miner and State Bank employee. He attended Knox County Schools and was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife and five daughters and one son, Mrs. David (Doris) Seat, Centerville, Iowa, Mrs. Marilyn Gregory, Mrs. Tom (Peggy) Aldridge, Mrs. Darrel (Jackie) Underwood, and Richard Armes, all of Washington, Ind., and Mrs. Wayne (Nancy) Wright, Huxley, Iowa, 16 grandchildren, five step grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Jed (Mildred) Davis and Wilbert Armes, both of Washington, Ind. And Clarence Armes, Gosport, Ind. Two brothers, one sister and one grandson deceased.
