Mayor J. C. Gibbs of Oneonta died Sunday apparently of a heart attack. Gibbs, 58, had served as mayor of this north Alabama City the past two years. He was a former president of the Alabama Singing Convention and was owner of Gibbs Tractor Co. here. Survivors include the widow, two sons, James Gibbs, with the Army stationed in Hawaii; Wesley Gibbs, Oneonta, and a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Tidwell, Ft. Jackson, South Carolina.
