Pete lived to the age of 77 years, and yet lived a life most couldn't fit into 150 years. Pete was born in Portsmouth, OH to John Wesley and Dorothy Duke Vance Moore on October 5, 1931.
Pete married Shirley Ann Turner on March 5, 1951 and were blessed with 4 children. Sharon Anne, John Wesley, Linda Kaye and William James.
During his life, Pete was a proud family man always placing his family above all. He was a 48 year member of-the Local Union #3. Pete was very proud of his award given by Operating Engineers for his union group for over 1.8 million man hours logged as a Crane Operator without any accidents.
He is a Master Mason and logged 4 life-time memberships in 2 lodges, Story Lodge #4 and Damascus #10. Pete was always looking to make others laugh and was always popping out funny cliches and songs to bring a smile. He will always be remembered by his Grandchildren with, "Kiss and a Quarter!" Pete was full of life, enjoyed it to the fullest.
He was always laughing, and quick with a kind word. As a family man, he was very proud of his family and it's continued growth.
Pete was 1 of 6 children, and was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers, John Wesley Jr., Harold and Gaylon, and 1 sister Mary Allen, with one surviving sister Kate Warden.
He is survived by his wife, 4 children, 14 grandchildren, Melissa, Amy, Jennifer, Angie, Brian, John Jr., Autumn, Maryann, Kimberly, Aubrey, Jeff, Josh, Sarah, and Amanda. 12 great-grandchildren, Casey, Tyler, Kyleigh, Hunter, Chandler, Alyssa, Ashlyn, Jace, Amber and Violet with 2 on the way, or in the oven as Pete would say.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 12th at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., with visitation l hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
